Solution to energy problem priority: CM

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that solution to energy crisis is the foremost priority of the government and steps are being taken to overcome this serious problem.

He said that it was essential to overcome electricity shortage as soon as possible so to promote trade and economic activities for putting the country on the road to progress and development. He said Pakistan would get rid of terrorism, energy crisis and other problems under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. The chief minister was talking to a delegation of workers of the Pakistan Muslim League-N here on Sunday. He said service to the people was the mission of the PML-N leadership and it had proved this fact through practically efforts. He said revolutionary and unprecedented steps had been taken for the development of the province and welfare of the masses. He said metro bus service, Punjab Educational Endowment Fund, Punjab Education Foundation, distribution of laptops, solar lamps and other projects were example to prove this fact. He said the PML-N had achieved a historic victory in the general elections with the grace of Allah and it would come up to the expectations of the people and Pakistan would be transformed in accordance with the vision of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal. Shahbaz said the journey towards progress and prosperity had been resumed and masses would be served with commitment and dedication. He said the Punjab government had launched health insurance scheme while metro bus project was being extended to other districts. He said the scope of solid waste management was also being expanded to other big cities and this system was also being introduced in the rural areas.

The CM said the Punjab government had announced a special package of Rs4 billion rupees for Ramazan and quality essential items were being provided in Ramazan Bazaars at concessionary rates. Referring to his visit to China, he said the Chinese government had assured full cooperation in resolving energy crisis and implementation of the agreements signed with Chinese company would soon start. He said a special taskforce had been constituted for curbing power and gas theft and action was being taken against the elements involved in the practice without any discrimination.

Shahbaz further said quality, speed and transparency were the hallmark of the Punjab government and all development projects were being executed under this principle. He said every penny of public money was being spent on welfare of people. He stressed upon PML-N workers to play an active role for the solution to people’s problems.
