Power project: Nandipur to be operational in May next year

According to offical sources, the first unit of 425-525MW Nandi Pur Power Project will start generation in May 2014. The project is expected to take 16 months for completion and would be operational by December 2014.

The offical said that the physical work on the project site had already commenced with an expected cost of around Rs56 billion. Sharing the details of the project, The offical said that the plant would generate 425MW with furnace oil whereas 525MW will be generated with gas.

Previously the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) had approved the project in December 2007 and its scheduled time for completion was 2011. The sources said that around 60% machinery has already been transported to the project site to speed-up the process.
