‘Pak-Iran gas pipeline to help meet Pakistan’s energy needs’

Syed Sumsam Bukhari, minister of state for information and broadcasting, has said that completion of Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline will help meet Pakistan’s energy crisis.

Speaking in the Pakistani area of Akhtarabad, Bukhari said that despite international pressure Pakistan has approved the Iran-Pakistan gas pipe line project and it will resolve Pakistan’s gas crisis.

Pakistan’s foreign policy is based on the national interests, he said, adding that under the agreement between Pakistan and Iran, Islami Jamhooria Iran will supply 215 million cubic metres gas daily to Pakistan from 2014, he added.
