Gadani project to be completed at the earliest

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that Gadani power project should be given top priority in view of energy crisis faced by the country. He said this at a briefing on Gadani Power Project at Lasbela Development Authority in Hub on Saturday.

Calling it a mega power project, PM Nawaz said there was no room for delay in the execution of the project.

The prime minister said that rules and procedures should be simplified for investment in private sectors in important projects like Gadani. He noted that simplification of procedure will help timely completion of the

projects.

He said that no compromise should be made on quality and transparency.

The secretary of water and power briefed the prime minister about the 6,600

megawatt Gadani Power Project. He said under this project ten coal based

power plants will be established in Gadani and China will provide assistance

for the completion of the project.

The officials told that every province will get energy from this project.

Meanwhile, PM Nawaz was optimistic that completion of the projects will help

overcome energy crisis besides changing the fate of the country, adding

these will also increase facilities and exports.

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Asif, and

Petroleum Minister Khaqan Abbasi, Chief Minister Balochistan Dr Abdul Malik

also attended the briefing.
