Electricity comes first

The foremost priority of the PML-N government should be to manage Rs500 billion to pay off the circular debt. Once the energy problem is solved, the industrial and agricultural sectors will get a new lease of life and the economy will start recovering. The revival of the economy will generate more opportunities for investment in infrastructure and development and thus creating more taxable avenues.

The government should divert the money earmarked for construction of new motorways, metro buses and similar projects towards the energy sector for a year or so. At present, the most urgent need of this nation is uninterrupted electricity supply, not new motorways and bridges.
