CS calls for awareness seminars on energy issues

Sindh Chief Secretary Muhammad Ejaz Chaudhry has directed all deputy commissioners to collaborate with oil and gas companies and conduct public awareness seminars in their respective districts to highlight the energy issues faced by the nation.

The chief secretary issued these directives on Monday, while chairing a meeting to review the status of various energy projects in the province. Chaudhry urged all deputy commissioners to formulate welfare schemes aimed at benefiting the public and raising the living standards of the common people.

He advised the deputy commissioners to devise development schemes aimed at fulfilling the masses’ basic civic needs such as uninterrupted potable water supply, proper sewerage facilities, education and health. The chief secretary stressed on the need for the schemes to be developed in a transparent and efficient manner.

Chaudhry directed all commissioners to ensure that deputy commissioners prepared extensive reports regarding the progress of development projects being undertaken in Sindh. He added that the progress reports by the deputy commissioners, along with the comments and review by commissioners, should reach his office within a week.

Sindh Energy Department Secretary Agha Wasif also briefed the meeting over the progress being made on energy and power projects underway in the province.
