Coal generated electricity to reduce loadshedding

The electricity consumers are expected to get relief in loadshedding as well as the power tariff after enhanced ratio of coal in the energy mix since the government is striving hard to utilize all available alternate resources especially the coal component for electricity generation.

The PML-N Traders Wing Co-Chairman and Executive Committee Member of the FPCCI and Lahore Chamber, Nasir Saeed expressed these views, while talking to a delegation of traders here Wednesday.

Nasir Saeed said the government had expedited construction work on the mega hydro-power projects of 960MW Neelum-Jehlum and 425MW Nandi Pur, citing, that completion of these vital projects would bridge the power demand and supply gap.

He also welcomed the prime minister’s initiative of holding the All Parties Conference as well as meeting with the traders and industrialists to win their support and confidence for formulating a comprehensive strategy to restore peace and trade activity in the biggest city of Karachi.
