CM discusses investment with Korean business team

A DELEGATION of a prominent Korean Company met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. Matters regarding investment and cooperation in energy, construction, engineering and other sectors were discussed in the meeting. Head of the delegation Joon Tae Kim gave a briefing regarding trade and business activities of the company. Chairman Planning and Development, Additional Chief Secretary Energy, Secretary Housing, DG LDA and Vice Chairman Punjab Investment Board were also present.

Talking to the delegation, the Chief Minister said Pakistan is facing the problem of energy shortage and government is taking immediate steps to overcome energy crisis. He said that vast opportunities of investment exist in energy and other sectors. He welcomed the offer of cooperation and investment by Korean company in energy, construction and engineering sectors. Shahbaz Sharif said that generation of energy is the foremost priority of the Punjab government and special incentives are being given to the investors in this sector. He said the Punjab government is working on the projects of generating energy from coal, hydle, solar and other sources and agreements have been made with energy companies of Germany, China, Canada and other European countries. The Chief Minister said that quality and rapid completion of energy, infrastructure and other development projects is the policy of the Punjab government. He said the Punjab government and Korean company can launch the joint ventures.
