30mw wind power plant at Jhimpir

Leading Chinese companies in the field of wind power have reached an understanding with a syndicate of Tapal Wind Energy for setting up 30mw wind power plant at Jhimpir.

The HydroChina, which will be awarded engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract, is already involved in setting up wind power projects with a total capacity of around 300mw in Pakistan.

In this regard stakeholders’ meeting was held here on Thursday, where representatives of a consortium of banks with lead arranger of National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) for funding a soft loan of Rs6 billion, were also present.

Whereas the sponsors of the project M/s Tapal Group, Ismail Industry and Akhtar Energy will share 75 per cent debt and 25 per cent equity of the project.
