REpower bags 150MW turbine order for Oklahoma project

The German company says the East Coast-based developer, which it does not name, will buy 73 of its MM92 machines for a project in Oklahoma. The turbines are due to be delivered in the second half of 2012. Due to the conditions, the 2.5MW turbines are equipped with the Hot Climate Option (HCO), which eases operation during the dry, hot summer months in that region of the US, says REpower. The order is REpower’s first for that part of the country and its second-largest US order to date. Suzlon-owned REpower says its Indian parent group’s US division acted as a sales agent during the negotiations over the deal.
