Iran offers to set up 1,000MW power plants in Pakistan

An Iranian company on Monday expressed its interest in setting up power plants of 1000MW capacity on urgent basis to meet energy needs of Pakistan.The offer was made by four-member delegation of the MAPNA Group of Companies from Iran during a meeting with Minister for Water and Power Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar here on Monday.The delegation also expressed keenness to supply and install 25MW small power plants. The Iranian team will have follow-up meetings with Pakistani technical experts to finalise modalities for these generation projects. Ahmed Mukhtar assured full support from the government side in this regard.
