German firm to give inverters for solar power plant

A German solar-panel maker, Conergy will supply Pakistan with modules and inverters to run a 50MW solar-power plant, a statement said.

The project is located in Bahawalpur owned by DACC Power Generation Co, it said.

The government plans to supply 30,500 households with electricity, it said, adding that the total investment will probably be around $170 million to $190 million, with Conergy’s share at around 60 million euros ($75 million) to 70 million euros.

The company, working with developer Ensunt Inc., will supply 210,000 modules and 140 inverters, it added.
